Trip, I was a life long Tampanian too. Spent 54 years there. I have never regretted the move to where are now. It will be ten years this coming September. The only thing I miss in Florida is what's left of my family, some good friends and the ocean.

Blue Ridge is just south of my place in NC.   Nice placew.   There are so many Tampa expatriates living up there I have joked about opening a Bulls Bar there.

My friend who moved up there a few years ago from Tampa area told me the same thing.  He said after living there and on occasion coming back here to visit, he recognized why even more so.

The problem I would have in a permanent move up there would be strictly sports related. As a charter season tix member of the Bucs (43 years) and almost as many years attending USF MBB games, kind of an integral part of my existence for a long long time. Honestly, though, won't be a big problem leaving the Bucs, things have changed a lot there over the many many years ....... but the hoops, that could be a huge problem leaving behind, especially since the way the future may be setting up.
