If you go back and look at all those Texas Post Games, I see the same things I see at the USF post games. CCS learned nothing from his Texas experience.

There is almost a complete disconnect between the reality of trying to actually win a football game versus a whole plethora of other things. I keep hearing about him trying to mentor kids and make sure they have a better life after football. Everybody talks about what a nice guy CCS is.

Those are all probably true, but there is a lot of money flying around for the sole purpose of winning these games. If your main focus is related to a civil rights cause (which is alluded to early in this press conference) or you are mostly trying to graduate players (worthy aspirations I guess) then you probably aren't going to be all that successful at actually winning because your focus is different.

His answers to questions seem to have nothing to do with anything. He is saying words but they make absolutely no sense. Anytime, a reporter asks a question about "What changes would you make" his basic answer is "nothing". Just keep giving me more time, "There is no reason for us not to be a good football team".

Short of finding Teddy Bridgewater's clone, keeping CCS is a mistake.

I was initially looking forward to our 2020 encounter with UT in Austin. Not presently though. If McNeese State showed us anything, a good senior QB in college can will his team to victory in many instances where the talent level isn't even across the board (see Q Flowers last year). Now we'll have Texas when their starting QB is a senior with three plus years of game experience... and UT is more loaded across the board than we are. We're going to get rolled if things don't change quickly (especially on defense).

good stuff. wouldn't want to let facts get in the way of your argument though.

Strong was left with two 4 star QB recruits and 1 3 star QB recruit on his roster. not to mention Beuchele who was a 4 star QB recruit he brought in to start his last season there and 4 star dual threat jalen overstreet who had switched positions.

Maybe he just mismanaged his roster.

I'm sure puc and the apologists will chime in now how bad a situation Strong was in though.

Mack's 3 recruiting classes before the Strong hire were #3 in the country, #2 in the country and #24 in the country according to rivals.

Swoopes was recruited as a 4 star  QB. even had some pass attempts before Strong got there. Not sure why you think he was a TE.

David Ash was also a 3 star QB who had 87 pass attempts the year before Strong showed up. He was even named the most valuable offensive player in the 2011 Holiday Bowl. granted he had concussion issues.

Jerrod heard was also a 4 star QB recruit who converted to WR and Jalen Overstreet was a 4 star dual threat QB according to 247 that was converted and then kicked off because of Strong's no pot policy.

in fact the position of QB was so stacked that Connor Brewer, a 4 star QB that was offered by alabama notre dame michigan ,etc, decided to transfer out just 6 months before strong was hired.

here are some quotes for you and the apologists from an article written 6 months before Strong was hired. I know they don't like to look at facts but perhaps you do.

There are so many quarterbacks vying for snaps that Texas has decided to tinker with redshirt freshman Jalen Overstreet at wide receiver or the defensive secondary. And then there is, perhaps, the most highly regarded of the QBs, 2014 commitment Jerrod Heard (Denton, Texas/Guyer), who accounted for seven touchdowns in a state championship win last season.

A congested path to playing time was likely one of the main reasons for his departure from Texas. David Ash has started his first two seasons at Texas and still has two years of eligibility remaining. Behind him is senior Case McCoy, who played in eight games last season, and highly touted true freshman Tyrone Swoopes, who dazzled in the spring game.

"He's got a guy in front of him that's going to play at least two more years. They are making a big thing about this Swoopes kid and him being the future of the program.

I can probably be called a CJL apologist, a USF apologists and a Big Easy apologist but I would hardly call myself a CCS apologist. I don’t know that I buy that marijuana is inherently good for people or that if CCS enforces a drug policy that makes him an inherently bad coach, I feel there are better reasons to go after him but this seems to be the one you fixate on which I find strange.

I only brought up that strong was a victim of his own doing. his roster at texas was depleted for his own reasons.

Why does New Orleans need an apologist?

Hahahaha my stupid phone doesn’t recognize the Big East which is one more reason it needs an apologist to go along with those that try to claim it was comparable to the current AAC.

Herman is quietly doing a good job. It's weird to say quietly when talking about Texas but he put together a very good season while being average at the QB position. If he hits there in recruiting or Transfer they are going to turn the corner as a force as soon as next season.
