Who do you guys have in mind that would have a realistic shot at coming here? I think we should go the Taggart route again, get a young energetic coach from a smaller school that runs an explosive offense and let him make a name for himself. I don’t worry about them moving on in 3 or 4 years, that would just mean they absolutely killed it here.

PLEASE do not go the retread route, I am tired of the Strong/Tubberville/O’Leary types where the game has passed them by and they have no desire to change with the times.

OC Yost from Utah State. Get him on campus stat! Yost knows how to use speed and the entire field.

Just throwing this out there and have no information to support it, but Bill Clark from UAB would be interesting. He's a winner and has ties to the Southeast.

Jake Spavital.

WVU Offensive coordinator.

Has been learning from Sumlin and Holgorson for years, coached great college QBs Whedon, Manziel and Grier, makes $500k at WVU.

Would be able to get him for cheap, give him a large pool for a solid DC and we are set.

He would bring back the killer instinct that Taggart teams had.

I looked Spavital up and he is indeed the type of young guy we need in here. Mix him and the Florida athletes together and you will have what Frost has at UCF .

Now we need a DC that doesn’t play bend but don’t break defense, with a high powered offense you can afford to attack and gamble on defense.

Our main objective would be to win a shootout anyway and if the D can get a takeaway here or there then that would be icing on the cake.

I love these comments.  We don't know what it would take for him to come here, assuming that he'd even be interested.  We would not be the only opening in the FBS.

No but, we are one of the few with the type of players he needs for his system and can get a ton of locally. There is also the added caviet that we could be one of the first to ask and offer the most for his staff.

As long as he can recruit in FL. I wouldn't be opposed to him keeping CBJ-M. He did a fine job last year.

To clarify, by cheap I meant less than Strong.

Don't see many people turning down a raise 3-4x their salary.

My point is he may get offered 3-4x his salary elsewhere also.
