I honestly wasn't fishing. Wasn't that a legitimate gripe with Levitt? We would falter down the stretch due to lack of depth. 1's would play with their hair on fire but the injury bug would bite and boom or we would get gassed and the 2's and 3's couldn't tow the line.

No one thought you were fishing, they thought you were the fish.

I learned this year to keep a roster handy when watching the games. Each week so far I've had to look someone up during the game to see who they were. Last week I was wondering about Bentlee Sanders and Jaymon Thomas all game and wondering who is #24 and #14? (Vincent Davis and Nick Roberts)

You never know who Charlie's gonna roll out each week. Hopefully it builds good depth and experience.

I am very curious about Naytron Culpepper though. He looked great at the end of last year as a true freshman, then he just disappeared without a word.

I believe he was battling an injury in camp IIRC. Could be that he isnt fully healed up or that he missed more time than we realized and isn’t back up to full speed.

The guy I’m curious about is Donelle Thomas. Has he played a snap in a USF jersey yet?

He played last year on ST and some downs on D. If I had to guess, Thomas just got plain old beat out for the safety spot. He doesn't have the coverage skills to play CB so realistically his only spot to land were FS/SS.

CCS prefers height at the safety spot (LaPointe and Thomas are both 6"2'+) and those without size have to be fast ala Roberts/Sanders. Thomas is probably just not as quick as similarly-sized Roberts/Sanders.

Good assessment. You might be on to something

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
