Signee Pablo Garabitos is the first in the class to be picked - end of the 25th round, 755 overall to the Brewers.

Missed that, thanks!

AND Wichita St just had their 8TH player drafted...not sure if thats a lot, doubt it compared to the big boys but it seems like a lot and its the most in the AAC

They get paid peanuts in the Minor Leagues, most guys have to work 2nd and 3rd jobs in the offseason.

I know a 6th round pick working in the offseason.  Retail and some lessons when he can

All these dudes flying off the board from AAC schools that didn't even make the dance, kind of makes Mohl and staff's job this year look even better.

We're into the 30th round with no more damage. Billy Mohl has to be feeling pretty good right now. Seems to me like Montes is the only surprise.

Yes and no. Montes getting drafted isn't a surprise, how high he got drafted is a little surprising. Not because of his bat, but he never really struck me as a plus defender, but I think Brass pointed out somewhere that he's likely destined for 2B, anyway.

Wichita St has lost there entire infield except for the 2b. They've lost their Catcher, an outfielder and 4 pitchers. Crazy

That's why they ranked so high despite their record. They played well below expectations this year.

Yep, I wonder if that was coaching or too many superstars in one place ie lack of chemistry.  and now its 10 picks.....

Sure, but he can still make a decent living in the minors, no?

At least comparable to being a bank branch manager, etc. Somewhere around 60-70 K/ year?

True but they won’t let him hang around the minors for too long as there is always a new crop of players every year. Also, The maximum first-year player salary in the minor leagues is $1,100 per month, a figure regulated by Major League Baseball. Salaries generally increase as players get closer to the majors, with those in Triple-A generally making more than $2,000 per month, sometimes a lot more. But not too many even make that far.
