Both. I think a lot of people are starting realize he’s overrated. He underachieved at Texas and has done the same here

First of all, they are not protesting the Star Spangled Banner, they are protesting perceived difference in treatment by police offers of blacks versus whites. The people who are upset at these protests are upset at the forum they are using. 

And while yes, the anthem was written to inspire patriotism, nationalism, and American Identity. And yes, the song includes lyrics dedicated to slavery (fairly common at the time), the song isn't a "slave propaganda song".  It's a nationalist propaganda song, just like God Save the Queen and O Canada.

And I think the college football community of writers, fellow coaches, administrators, etc. think much more highly of him than the bulletin board community.

It's funny Charlie Strong has now won more bowl games at USF than Willie Taggart has in his entire coaching career but yet he is the hot hire and everyone still poo poos Charlie.

He’s a GREAT head coach for THIS PROGRAM. We need consistency. We need a guy that can recruit the state of Florida. Coach Strong is highly regarded by the High School coaching community in this state. 

People that are rooting for his exit are delusional.
