In this conference, without winning even our division, we should be content to have played P5 teams in bowl games the past two years.

That's just the way it is right now, until we can renegotiate a better TV deal and better bowl games.

The main thing Aresco wants is to have a guaranteed big bowl game for our champion, if no AAC teams earns the NYD bowl.

Things will eventually get better in the conference, but we just need to be more patient.

Mama do you know exactly when the bowls are renegotiated? My understanding is that it is before the tv contracts are renegotiated.

What could Harlan do? It was beyond HIS control: "Military Bowl, which chose Navy."

Not putting the Blame squarely on Harlan's shoulders. I actually think Aresco should have stepped up and told the Military bowl that we belong there.  With added pressure from Harlan.

We do not know what Aresco did or did not do with respect to that. I don't expect our AD to put the blame on Aresco.

I really can't blame the "Military" Bowl from choosing Navy. They certainly would draw better with them than with USF. That has to also be taken into consideration when selecting a team.

We don't travel well and these bowls have this crazy idea about making money.

This is the same thinking when it comes to complaining we are not in a P5.  Our attendance stinks.

We are our own worst enemy.  Blaming Aresco and Harlan is ********.

Those are decent options...I hope I don’t hear the words Birmingham Bowl and USF together for at least five years.

How about "Back to back Birmingham Bowl winners USF Bulls"?

And now we can add to our reputation, by our fans not wanting to travel to Birmingham.  Its a vicous circle.

For a G5 team our attendance is consistently near the top of that group.

We all know attendance and traveling are the catch-22 the P5 has the G5 caught in. We aren't going to get good attendance until we're in the P5.

We can add a third Birmingham bowl trophy to our case! It will be a focal piece to show recruits! Over here is our Birmingham bowl trophy...and over here is our Birmingham bowl trophy...and did we mention that we won the Birmingham bowl?

He failed to sway their decision. ADs need to be persuasive

Well keep in mind, it could always be worse. Pitt went to the Birmingham Bowl  THREE straight years.

2011 beat Kentucky

2012 lost to SMU

2013 lost to Ole Miss
