All year we have felt the Defense has improved so I thought I would list all the info I could find from  NCAA.com

Numbers are National rank

Total Defense: 28th (4.72 yds/play/ 342.5 yds/game)

Pass Yards Allowed: 60th (216.4 ypg)

Rush Yds Allowed: 23rd (126.4 ypg)

Tackles for Loss: 3rd (94 Total TFL / 8.5/game)

INT's: 3rd (18 Total)

Pass Efficiency Def: 9th (108.5)

Sacks: 13th (33 Total / 3.0/game)

3rd Down Def: 38th (34%)

This one is also in 1 less game than the teams ahead... we were 1st in INTs/gm

Compared to 2016...

Total D - 120th - 482 yard/game

Pass - 122nd - 285.5 yds/gm

Rush - 84th - 196.5 yds/gm

TFL - 48th

INTs - 22nd (15)

Pass Eff - 60th

Sacks - 38th (31)

3rd down - 63rd

Tackling alone was much improved.

4th quarter defense was a issue not sure why...maybe not as attacking?

That needs to get sorted out along with punt blocking and first down dive plays (either we need to get better at them or try something else until we do IMO).

Yes a new special teams coach is a must.

I don't remember anyone saying that the Defense/DC "stunk"

 

All I remember is complaints about:

Special Teams

Constant Halfback dives on offense. 

...And the dropped passes

Guessing depth quite honestly, guys wearing down late in the game, but, I can't substantiate that at all.
