you do not understand.   it is about the "shared experience"  that a football game bring and the shared memories being on campus tailgating

We understand perfectly and this has been hashed around on here forever that is one of the pros of an ocs .... forcing alumni back on campus who obviously didn't care diddly about doing that before.

Being an engineering student in the 90's with a hectic class schedule I didn't have time to smell the roses.  I do recall the jail style concrete block dorms and stepping on the sand burrs while trekking across campus. It's amazing to see the transformation of the campus over the years, there is so much more elaborate and well laid out landscaping plus all the new buldings and more construction in progress.  Makes me proud of my USF heritage.

Where you from?

Every Floridian I grew up with called them sand SPURS...

Never heard them called BURRS until this thread.

Whatever you call them, they were downright NASTY!! One thing i do NOT miss about Florida, LOL

I can see why the one is named longispinus.

I am afraid to ask why the other one is named incertus.

Where exactly does it insert itself? (other than your foot)

As a Tampa native, I can tell you that they are sand spurs here.

I saw the fence for the first time a few weeks ago. Very classy and the U was perfect. Of course it also keeps the riff raft out.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
