Even with a win @Tulane we might go backwards in the AP Poll.

The AP poll is useless. The coaches poll has USF at #13.

"BCS Calculation. The teams were ranked each week in the Bowl Championship Series Standings by their BCS Average, which gave equal weight to the BCS Standings three components; the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Harris Interactive College Football Poll and an average of six computer rankings." Which was important in 2013!! Edited October 15, 2017 by Bull-Hornz

Apparently, RECRUITS still do. We were NOT ranked in the final CFP poll last year. However, we were ranked #19 in both the final AP and Coaches Polls. As a result, we were ranked by them in their first poll this year. So, while those polls, presumably, have no bearing on what the CFP committee does in their poll, IMO, they are something that many recruits notice and take seriously, when considering going to a school. Heck, we have multiple threads a week complaining about it. I agree with Mama, I think recruits care. It is nice to see our name across the ESPN ticker. It is nice to be on the first page of ESPN when checking scores. I would say that most people care about them. Even the ones that say they don't.
