I think Navy has a much better chance to win @Memphis than they do at home against UCF.

Look at what UCF did to Memphis: 70-31.

The UCF QB has only been sacked once this season. He might put up more points on Navy than Memphis. Plus, UCF has a much better defense than Memphis.

Remember, Navy still has to play @ND and @Houston and they wont be favored in either game.

Ucf didnt score 70 on Memphis.

It was 40 to 13.

No worries they still pounded Memphis.

Ucf is going to be a formidable opponent on the road.

Saturday 10/14

#6 TCU at Kansas St 12:00PM ET (FS1) (Playoff and USF Rankings)

#17 Michigan at Indiana 12:00PM ET (ABC) (AAC Rankings)

#20 NC State at Pitt 12:00PM ET (ACCN) (AAC Rankings)

Purdue at #7 Wisconsin 3:30PM ET (BTN) (Playoff and USF Rankings)

#10 Auburn at LSU 3:30PM ET (CBS) (Playoff and USF Rankings)

GT at #11 Miami 3:30PM ET (ABC) (USF Rankings)

#12 Oklahoma at* Texas 3:30PM ET (ESPN) (USF Rankings)

Baylor at #14 Ok State 3:30PM ET (FS1) (USF Rankings)

#25 Navy at Memphis 3:45PM ET (ESPNU) (AAC Rankings)

ECU at #22 UCF 7:00PM ET (CBSSN) (AAC Rankings and USF SOS)

#9 Ohio St at Nebraska 7:30PM ET (FS1) (USF Rankings)

Utah at #13 USC 8:00PM ET (ABC) (USF Rankings)

#21 Michigan St at Minnesota 8:00PM ET (BTN) (AAC Rankings)

Boise State at #19 SDSU 10:30PM ET (CBSSN) (USF G5 and AAC Rankings)

Forgot to add the AAC and a couple others

AAC

UConn at Temple 12:00PM ET (ESPNN) (No real gain)

Houston at Tulsa 4:00PM ET (ESPNN) (Better chance for Houston to be ranked and hypes up our game)

Tulane at FIU 7:00PM ET (No TV listed) (USF and AAC SOS)

Other Games

Rutgers at Illinois 12:00PM ET (BTN) (USF SOS regardless of how bad Buttgers is)

Northwestern at Maryland 3:30PM ET (ESPN2) (AAC SOS)

UCLA at Arizona 9:00PM ET (PAC12) (Better AAC SOS)

Guys, I'm starting to come around that not only do we want SDSU to lose, but also UCF and Navy.  I know it's not good for the conference and our SOS but is there something to be said by being the only undefeated G5 team early on so we are the G5 main focus of the media and the voters.  Call me perplexed!

GO BULLS!

GO BULLS!

I can understand your confusion.

I also have some mixed feelings.

Clearly, we all want SDSU to lose, because they currently would be the G5 leader over all the AAC teams, by having beaten Stanford and Arizona State.

It is also clear that we currently have the weakest schedule of all four teams.

If our primary goal is to just win the eastern division of the AAC then, of course, we would want UCF to lose a few games before we play them, in order to lock up our division.

If our primary goal is to win the AAC championship,  then we would want to play a weak western division team.

If our primary aim is to beat out SDSU for a spot in the Peach Bowl, then our best chance for doing that is by beating a couple of ranked AAC teams along the way.

SDSU, at this point, looks to have the easiest path to an unbeaten season in their division. Their toughest test, if they can get by Boise this week, will likely come in the MWC championship game. If they lose that one and we win our conference, we will still be ranked above that other MWC team and USF will go to the Peach Bowl.

At this point, we should expect SDSU to go undefeated and be the MWC champion.

UCF still has to play Navy, so one of them will no longer be undefeated.

If UCF loses to Navy, they will no longer be ranked. However, that loss alone wouldn't prevent them from still becoming the AAC eastern division champion by beating us.

If Navy loses to UCF, they will no longer be ranked. However, that loss alone won't prevent them from still becoming the AAC western division champion.

Navy has, undoubtedly, the toughest remaining schedule. IF they win out, regardless of what SDSU does, they will go to the Peach Bowl. They might still do that, even if there only loss is to ND.

Since, we still have to play Houston, I prefer that that they beat Navy. That would be our best win up to that point.

IMO, The best scenario for us is to have a ranked Houston win the western division.

Houston could be ranked if they win their remaining games when they play USF for the title.

So, I'm rooting for Memphis over Navy, which might get them ranked, or close to it. That would help the ranking for UCF.

I'll be rooting for UCF over Navy.

I'll be rooting for Houston over Memphis.

I'll be rooting for UCF to be undefeated and ranked when we play them. It's probably best that they be ranked ahead of us, because they then might still be ranked even with only one loss to USF.

I think that is the most realistic scenario for USF to increase its SOS sufficiently enough to beat out USDU for the Peach Bowl spot.

Of course, the situation will need to be reassessed on a weekly basis.

I'm sure people here will have differing opinions.

Houston isn't even getting points in the AP now. I don't think there's any way a 2 loss Houston team gets ranked by the CFP ... Until SDSU loses, we need Navy or Memphis to win out and face us in the ccg.

It doesn’t matter as long as USF beats UCF. USF can even lose a game and it not matter if they beat UCF. Once the CFP ranking comes out we will see wher the committee feels everyone is. Think it’s all wild conjecture at this point.
