They don't build stadiums. They pay for naming rights.

But it's all part of the financing package. Thinking one of them could pony up $30m over 15 -20 years for the rights.  No different than a donor pledging $30m over 15 years during the quiet phase of the campaign which I assume is happening now.  GO BULLS!

We still can't get a sponsor the Sun Dome. Not sure we get $1+ million per year for an OCS.  And no one has approached us about a long term commitment yet.

Anheuser Busch approached John Allen with the offer to build a stadium in the early 60's and USF passed.  What could have been playing now in the renovated AB InBev Stadium in the center of campus!

Good point though the outside of the stadium, logos, etc. will be seen on tv and streaming by 100 times the eyeballs that sees the Sun Dome now.

USF did have a sponsor for USF Sundome but they were a crooked student loan company. Football gets more attention than hoops too so that should help

UCF was able to sell the naming rights to it's hoops arena for 3.95 million dollars over 7 years.

That isn't $30 million over 15 years as was suggested.  Maybe we get a bit more than that.  Maybe Vinik's group can work some magic when it comes to that stuff.

I wasn't saying it was.

UCF CFE Arena, 3.95 Million over 7 years  / USF Sundome naming rights = zero dollars.

UCF Bounce House original deal 15 million over 15 years, renegotiated to $750,000/ year for the next 4 years.

USF OCS,  $30 million over 15 years = pipe dream!

That was meant for the original guy that said $30 million over 15 years was like a donor giving that amount. Know you didn't say it.

I really, really want one on campus, but I don't think our fan base has earned an OCS yet. Although the student section was condensed in size from seasons past, the students represented well. They aren't typically the problem in this attendance quandary.

Yes, we had a ton of people in club and behind the pirate ship, there were other school's games on TV, the rain, etc., those are all excuses. We had the #19 ranked team in the country playing against Stony Brook, and we couldn't even crack 20k in actual attendance. Our fan base still needs to show it deserves an OCS.

My bigger concern was the announced attendance of 26k, which included a ton of hs band members and families ... and I don't give a **** who the opponent is, JT, if you can't sell/distribute 40k to USF fans who want to see their #19 team in the country, we are exactly where we should be in the way of conference affiliation.... maybe even too high.

Looks like Strong took a stab at our crappy fan base today.  Good for him.
