Doug Martin will miss the first three games, and then all that's left is Jacquizz Rodgers and Peyton Barber

and Charles Sims as far as experienced backs go .... but still not enough to remove rb from the # 1 need.

Yes, RB is a need, but this draft is really deep at that position.  Personally, I would only draft an RB in the 1st round if I felt that they were a game changer.

You don't think Dalvin Cook is one?

Yeah, I forgot about Sims.  I'm not a big fan of his out of the backfield.  I'd much rather see him convert to slot receiver.  Much better use of his abilities.

I know we have our own distorted perceptions of Mack, but all scouting reports would lead you to believe that he is a change of pace back in the NFL. The type of guy you let loose in the 4th after you've worn them down with your workhorse back. I don't follow the bucs, but do they have a primary back? Seems like he would be very similar to what they have already in Rodgers.

And the Bucs O-line is far better than Cook's was in college.  The problem with the Bucs' rushing attack last year was the ball carriers.

Rodgers is more shifty than Mack.  Mack has greater breakaway speed, imo.  Doug Martin is still technically the primary back, but who knows for how long, since he's suspended the first three games this year.  Plus, Bucs don't owe a dime on his contract, the Bucs got out of the guaranteed $ on his contract because of the failed drug test.

3 out of 5 seasons, Doug's been pretty bad.  If the Bucs can pull Cook in the first, bye bye Dougie.

Fsu o line isnt better than ours.  They are hold city over there.  Kofi amichia is one of the most athletic og in the draft and will be a sleeper pick.

Aside from pass protection dalvin cook is an amazing back mack is really good.  Both are hard working but Cook has better tape against better competition.

A couple of things make me think they're not going to take him.  One, they have more pressing needs than RB and it's a deep RB class and two, the GM said that they weren't going to take someone just because he's a fan favorite among local Buccaneer fans.

If Bucs fans were USF fans we'd have a lot more people in the stands at USF games.  My point, I'm not sure Mack is a Bucs fan fav.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
