This is fun reading.  Most have opined that there is no way Strong would come to USF but now we have him going to UCF.  Oh what fun it is to ride in a ....  We're decorating the tree today.

Coaching in FL is a good fit for him with his recruiting ties. I think he could do well at most schools in FL.

Don't disagree with you that he is a good fit.  Just that many on here don't see him coming here should Taggart leave.

Edit: The nice thing about him coming here (or UCF) is that he can do it for free and keep his 10 million buyout.

If offered the Oregon job frost will be gone. I don't see strong going to any G5 school as he will get offers at p5 schools

I could see Strong doing well at UNC if Fedora leaves. I wouldn't be surprised if Strong is not a HC next season.

I think the jury is out on Strong. He was fine at Ville but I would not say great. It can be argued that he is overrated.

CJL is being discussed for HC at FAU. I Don't know if that would interest him.

He might "need" to take a job like that first, in order to put the USF scandal far behind him, before some of the more prestigious P5 football schools would consider hiring him.

BTW, CJL has been nominated for the Broyles award (most outstanding assistant coach). If he won that, it should help him to land a decent HC job.

I don't see him being a P5 HC next year.  He had plenty of talent at Texas, and couldn't covert that to a winning season in 3 tries.  Maybe a DC, then HC later?

why am i seeing rampant speculation that CJL will go to some really mediocre program? What am I missing?

He's been in the NFL coaching a dominant linebacking corps, took DC job at P5 program and turned them around... has demonstrated experience in big east coaching in the past... Why would he ever take a job like FAU?
