The AAC West is currently ranked higher than the SEC East in the latest Sagarin Ratings.

Houston V UF

Navy v Tenn

Tulsa v Ga

Memphis v Kentucky

Probably true as I see the AAC winning atleast 2 of those matchups

Brainwashed by the media? How so?

Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, compared to .... let's say....Central Michigan, Kent State, San Jose State, Tulsa. Maybe we should go with 'Bama and Georgia compared to Charlotte and FIU.

I don't think there is a lot 'brainwashing' going on, so much as a realization that there is a huge divide - like it or not - between the haves and the have-nots. Were that not the case, we (in the collective AAC sense) would not have been bowing and scraping to GET OUT of the conference and "please, lawd please, 'cept us into the Big XII".

Irrelevant? Not to the alumni and maybe not to the local folk. But you have to admit, if we're going to use the term 'relevant', on a broad scale, the reason G5 gets less pub is simply because that's what the product warrants.

Your analogy really didn't make sense when you compared big programs from multiple conferences to lame duck programs from lower their conferences.

The conversation is about if the AAC is on the level of the rest of the G4, when our record vs the G4 the last two seasons is 20-2 I believe. The product on the field would say we are on the same level as the 'haves' that you talk about. Simply put, the public IS brainwashed to think the AAC is G5 because that is when ESPN says, and ESPN is the primary source for college sports

I agree, not to mention the SEC East has an extra team too.

I will admit though, that the SEC West is just unbelievably good

The Big 12 is **** this year, AAC undoubtedly better...that being said, no team in the AAC is anywhere near the national picture.

Until we are, and consistently, this stigma will exist.

The Big 12 is 1 season off having two one loss teams.

Too late this season, but it would be great if the conference could coordinate having students bring "AAC P6" signs to all games.  Might just be the seed as announcers would have to discuss it during the games.  Hopefully get the conversation started.  I know, AAC green and gold goggles on.

You can't rely on Realtime until it settles down, usually sometime Monday afternoon, since the numbers bounce around as the updates run.

As of 10:30 PST, the AAC is back in 6th place and USF is #26

We (USF as well as the AAC) are on the CUSP of greatness - on the FIELD - but we're not quite there yet.

As far as eyeballs, ticket sales, and memorabilia, it's not even close.
