All great ideas.  Especially the PI as a spot foul.

PI needs to be a spot foul NFL does it that way .I also like the kicking rule about getting 1 point for kicking it through the uprights on a kickoff.

I actually like all the suggestions.

I've always felt you should not be rewarded for an infraction so making the PI a spot infraction fixes that and getting rid of half the distance also fixes that. I agree, place it on the 1 yard line then half the distance plus award/penalize downs depending on who causes the infraction.

The kickoff field goal would just be fun, and also almost eliminate one of the most dangerous portions of the game.

I'm not a fan of pi spot fouls. Half the time it's barely pi and it screws you. I don't believe college has illegal contact foul. That should be added for minor pi calls and blatant pi should be spot foul.

Also agree 100% that if 2 offsetting fouls, they should apply greater yardage if there is one.

Also, make holding for both offense and defense an equal yardage foul.

Great point about adding in illegal contact for minor PI.  I think you're right, it doesn't exist in college.

I disagree about holding on defense vs. offense.  For defensive, you already get an automatic first down if that's called so that's the more important part of the penalty than the yardage.  The setback of a 10 yard penalty is enough for an offense, imo.  Well, most offenses.  :GoBulls:

Works when it's an offensive penalty. What about a defensive infraction? Award an extra down?

You get to replay the down.  Effectively what it is now, except you get it moved up a little bit.

Offensive linemen should be able to fall down on a defensive linemen without it being holding. This happens in so many CFB games I see, the refs just assume it is holding.
