Curious what the reaction is from the AD who has to sit back and watch a young prospect lose a year of eligibility because a coach is trying to save his arse.

Probably the same as the coach when someone's shooting a triple from 10 feet outside the arc

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO (until it goes in, then) YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a cold day in Hell before ECU ever helps USF. There is just not love between the two programs right now. They hate us'!!!!

Meh, leans towards indifference.

Indifference to something doesn't lead to posting on that something's message board .... Infatuation, hatred, obsession, etc ... not indifference.

In ECUshoein's case, I'd lean more towards infatuation.

I dunno uconn burned a kid's redshirt at QB during Temple.

If they're sold he's their future there's nothing wrong with it IMO.  Young QB's always have growing pains and it's better to have those during a lost season than one where you hope to compete for a bowl/Conference title.  Live game reps are invaluable to a young QB and getting used to the game speed at the college level is one of the harder things for most QB's.  As long as Diaco is committed to the young pup for the rest of the season and the off season these last few games can be very important to the QB's development.  People overrate redshirt years when coaches truly commit to getting kids ready to be big time contributors the following season.  Of course it's a different story when coaches use up red shirts for just a couple plays here and there.....

Nothing wrong with that, we did the same with QF two years ago.

But imagine if we didn't.  We'd have him for two more years instead of one.  It's a hindsight thing ... but still.

Agree...I was thinking the same thing as I was typing the message. How much did those games his freshman year really help? Who knows.

Pretty sure there was some kind of promise made about playing his freshman year.  If I remember correctly in one of the articles last season about QF breaking out it referenced QF almost transferring that winter after his freshman year because he was unhappy with his role.  I'm guessing CWT promised him minutes as a freshman and Flowers wasn't happy with the amount that he got.

I'm sure glad he stayed.  But he sure didn't do much with the time he had.  May have been the team around him, but I remember when he was named the starter, I wasn't expecting much.  I'm just so pleased with how he has developed.  I honestly didn't expect it.

We are a six or seven win team without QF this year.
