In the West, there is a possibility that Houston, Tulsa, and Navy all wind up with two conference losses apiece. If it works out that way, with Houston beating Tulsa, Tulsa beating Navy, and Navy beating Houston, I'm assuming ranking breaks the tie? Anybody know for sure? Is division record (not conference) a factor in a tie-breaker situation like this?

It would take a bit of a miracle for both Tulsa and Navy to lose one more game.  Sure, the Tulsa/Navy loser will have two losses... but the winner has to lose again.  Navy also has ECU and SMU... Tulsa has UCF and Cincy.   Let's say they do.

The next tiebreaker is not rankings.  It's division record.  Houston would be 3-2 in the AAC West

Navy beats Tulsa and loses to ECU = Navy 4-1 & Tulsa 3-2  | Navy beats Tulsa and loses to SMU =  Navy 3-2 & Tulsa 3-2

Tulsa beats Navy and loses to either UCF or Cincy = 4-1

So if all three end up 3-2 ... the next two tiebreakers are record against the next highest teams (4th place and 5th place) in the division.  All three are 1-0 against Memphis (likely 4th place team)... but Tulsa beat SMU while Navy (hypothetical above) and Houston did not (likely 5th place team)

Thus... the likely scenarios are the Navy/Tulsa winner finishing 7-1 in AAC games and winning the division.... or all three finishing 6-2 and either Navy or Tulsa going.

For Houston to go... they need Navy to lose two more games and Tulsa to lose one more. Houston beat Tulsa earlier this season.

USF is going to finish 10-2 (7-1) ... both are best ever seasons for USF... and the Bulls will tied for the division lead... but won't get into the AAC Championship... and probably play in Annapolis, MD for the Military Bowl ... or across the Bay in the St. Pete Bowl... both against an ACC opponent.

If Bulls go to 10-2 I think you also have to put Birmingham in okay for a bowl.

Not sure that it's in play... mostly because the SEC is not going to fill that slot.  Could you imagine USF at 10-2, possibly ranked, playing a team like Idaho or Eastern Michigan?

Ok that is a good point but I am counting 10 teams that have a decent chance at being bowl eligible from the sec.

Yeah and they are primed for a 5-7 slot. Hopefully like last year, USF gets some say in which bowl they would like to go to based on what the players/coaches want and what the possible opponent could be. Granted I'm not sure the bowl committees really care that much.
