Please, please, please let the next hire be someone who actually has D1coaching experience. Could care less about a third assistant on a successful team.

Next coach is already here. Murray Bartow. Don't laugh, there was rumor if COA got fired he was going to be the next hire.

If true, kind of a **** move, IMO. MH should have just gone ahead fired COA and instilled Bartow as the HC .....

1.) If a child gets suspended from school, no one blames the principal, so why is a suspension COA's fault?
2.) We have had suspensions every year for as long as I can remember. We have had players not come to school here every year for as long as I can remember. CSH suspended Toralyn Fitzpatrick and Mike Burwell for a dine and dash, and that team went 20-13 and went to the NIT tourney
3.) COA has had a tough time (16-47), but so has every other coach we've had. CSH record was 21-41 his first two years going 7-29 in the BE, Robert McCullum 21-36, Seth Greenberg was 25-32, Bobby Paschal was 14-42 . Additionally those three combined to go 48-70 in their respective 3rd years. So even if COA struggles again, past behavior does not indicate he will be fired. I would say he has another 2 years at least

All bets are off however if this investigation comes down and says he knew about the cheating.

1) Actually lots of parents do blame the principal.

1) If the principal chose all the students and many of the students he chose committed violations he would come under scrutiny.

That's why the buck stops with the coach in college athletics. They have a hand in everything. They recruit the players, they coach the players, they discipline the players. This isn't grade school where a teacher has to put up with the students that walk in the door.

Give CJF a modest increase and let him coach both teams.

And that is exactly what is happening with USF administration where when one manager leaves they are not replaced, another manager is given a modest increase and responsibility for the reports of the manager who left.

lets say JM got caught smoking a joint.....if every coach who had a player who smoked pot got fired for it, there would be like 10 coaches working. You cant keep a child from making mistakes and thats all these guys are big fast athletic children. my guess is he made a mistake, got caught, got punished and that was the end of it. short of COA being a part of whatever happened it is not his fault. and he wont get fired for that

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
