We Have Simply Failed to Field a Competitive Defense

Mid-way through the Syracuse game the color commentator mentioned how far we were sitting off the ball, practically conceding 7-8 yards. I am not sure we have stopped an outside run all year.

On the positive, we are making changes - more LB and CB blitz, more zone defense. It hasn't been effective yet, but glad to see we are locked into something that isn't working.

It's ok, our D coordinator can just make the call to the other coaches on the sideline to help fire them up. Ugh.

I hate to say it, but it feels a lot like when Cosh was here.

This defense is just night and day from last year. They weren't perfect, but there was an intensity last year that is missing.

The Cosh feel was a little more like run stop, run stop, 3rd and long, complete over the middle of the field EVERY SINGLE TIME.  This is more like can't stop anything.

Which is an outside possibility.
