Logical question, though, is why was he out of work at this point in time ....

Also, apparently he could make $180,000 for a couple of years by not working so wonder what salary here is.

Could be some sort of arrangement where we split the pay and ETSU agrees to cover some of the financials while he works for us. Win win.

He was fired after a 16 win season? Hell, if a coach at USF wins 16 he gets a statute.

We don't all have the pedigree of East Tennessee and their deep coffers.

Pretty sure East Tenn would have kicked our tail the last three years.

There were some rumors that **** Tomey was brought in to help guide an inexperienced Taggart. Antigua is even greener so I wonder if this is similar. I could be way off base on both counts though.

Antigua needs that.

When you get let go as a head coach often your choice is to downgrade schools and be head coach or upgrade schools and be an assistant coach.

When UAB let Bartow go, he chose to downgrade schools and be a head coach. When East Tennessee let him go, he choose to upgrade schools and go back to being an assistant.

(Example of what I am talking about: Steve Robinson is the former FSU head coach who is now an assistant at Duke after FSU let him go. .... or Stan Heath being an assistant at an ACC school. vs. Frank Haith being let go by Mizzou is now Head Coach at Tulsa - I think he still has that job)

No master plan to bring in someone with any plan other than to be an assistant coach. It is a solid hire, if he can recruit.

With Bartow on staff, USF now has two ex-head coaches as assistants. The other is Sergio Rouco, ex-head coach at FIU.
