I feel like our history of qualities isn't getting the respect it should, and it shows we can play with the big boys. I haven't researched closely, but I doubt the other candidates have such a resume. How about some billboards in Austin, College Station, Norman, Morgantown, etc containing some of this: DATE OPPONENT RESULT Sep 25 2004 @ TCU W 45-44 Sep 24 2005 vs #9 Louisville W 45-14 Nov 5 2005 @ Rutgers W 45-31 Nov 12 2005 @ Syracuse W 27-0 Oct 14 2006 @ North Carolina W 37-20 Nov 4 2006 vs Pitt W 22-12 Nov 11 2006 vs Syracuse W 27-10 Nov 25 2006 @ #7 West Virginia W 24-19 Sep 8 2007 @ #17 Auburn W 26-23 Sep 22 2007 vs North Carolina W 37-10 Sep 28 2007 vs #5 West Virginia W 21-13 Nov 10 2007 @ Syracuse W 41-10 Nov 17 2007 vs Louisville W 55-17 Nov 24 2007 @ Pitt W 48-37 Sep 12 2008 vs #13 Kansas W 37-34 Sep 27 2008 @ NC State W 41-10 Oct 18 2008 vs Syracuse W 45-13 Sep 26 2009 @ #18 Florida State W 17-7 Oct 3 2009 @ Syracuse W 34-20 Oct 30 2009 vs #21 West Virginia W 30-19 Nov 21 2009 vs Louisville W 34-22 Nov 3 2010 vs Rutgers W 28-27 Nov 13 2010 @ Louisville W 24-21 Nov 27 2010 @ Miami W 23-20 Dec 31 2010 vs Clemson W 31-26 Sep 3 2011 @ #16 Notre Dame W 23-20 Nov 11 2011 @ Syracuse W 37-17 Oct 10 2015 vs Syracuse W 45-24 Nov 14 2015 vs #22 Temple W 44-23 Nov 20 2015 vs Cincinnati W 65-27 Nov 26 2015 @ UCF W 44-3 OK, I'm going to poo-poo on this and play Devil's Advocate. It's a good thought, but what would a public campaign accomplish? Billboards, for instance. Putting aside the fact that they're not a great medium for conveying this type of information -- who are we targeting with these billboards? The B12 Presidents? I'm sure we've already made presentations to them directly either in-person or through marketing materials with this, and other, more extensive information. That was much more effective, impression-wise and cost-wise. Or is this meant to target the casual fan in these towns and raise their awareness of Bulls football? If so, what would that do? There wouldn't be a couch-burning uprising in Morgantown crying for the inclusion of USF football or a sudden influx of out-of-state TV viewers who have no connection to the university. Our marketing needs to focus on owning our own market and getting butts in seats locally.

Our marketing needs to focus on owning our own market and getting butts in seats locally. The point would be to change the public perception to show that we have a quality program. Unless you are a marketing professional, I will leave it at that.

Blasphemy! I agree actually agree with you, and in the post-Woolard era, USF has been doing more of this. You can see it. I just wish the local media was a lot more engaged with what USF is doing. That'll come when the wins start coming more consistently, I hope. Edited August 12, 2016 by Paisa el Toro
