That is exactly it.  If you want to grow the program to have a huge fanbase and eventually an OCS, the best thing to make that happen is to legitimately be playing for national titles.

not suggesting we would ever play for one, but being in the POSITION to play for one at the beginning of every new season would be great.  Look at TCU for example.  A small, private, religious school with 8,500 undergrads went from playing in the MWC to the Big12 and now has a chance to make the playoffs every year.

My only attraction to the Big XII is P5 status and money.  Otherwise, I prefer the conference we're in because it's an overall better fit for USF where we currently are as a program and fanbase.

I certainly feel that USF could make a playoff run in the AAC.. undeafted against potentially 3-4 ranked teams? Stop with your non sense about us being left out. Especially if florida st doesnt lose more than 3

sorry, never going to happen and the chances of us getting the opportunity to play the FSU's of the world is declining.  Big 12 just made another mandate this week about scheduling P5 teams for OOC games.  The playoff committee again this year emphasized SoS as one of the most important elements in their selection process.  Notre Dame's and Auburn's aren't going to be scheduling G5's any more.

The AAC needs to realign itself before we get p5 status. Remove Tulane, add Boise, Marshall, then decide between CSU and air force. Keep winning and its a done deal. How could that conference be G5??

conferences are allowing teams to schedule AAC teams, and let them count as P5. Besides, if teams really want to boost SoS, they would def schedule AAC teams over fcs or sunbelt teams. The nation now knows that we are on a different level than the sun belt, cusa, and mac. But if we snatch boise air force and marshall, we will essentially own the G5 spot in every NY6 bowl, and on chaotic years, can for sure make a playoff. College football is always changing, you should know this

That's the mindset that landed us here in the first place

now you are adding more variables.  Boise, AF, and Marshall would improve the profile of the AAC certainly but they are not here.  As for the schools that are counting for P5 scheduling only the military schools and BYU have been accepted by all conferences.  The other exceptions are only for the games alrèady on the schedule.  If UConn were to schedule Bama in the future for example, it doesn't count as a P5 game.

The P5 "not scheduling" non P5 schools is just a stealthy way of creating their desired "division 4."
