Hey guys!

Great game... here is the footage.

It was just uploaded, so it might take awhile for the HD version to be available (youtube has to process it).

You're the man! Thanks!

Just took a look at it and I have to agree with some of armybull's points. We still ran the ball a ton. On macks first td run at the start of the second half the run-pass ratio was 5-1. The only big difference I saw was the second drive where we called the fake bubble screen and then the flea flicker td. That IMO changed the game. After Syracuse went on its run that 15 play drive we had featured 10 runs and 5 passes. We owe a lot to Bronson refusing to go down, that bubble screen is normally a low percentage play.

One other difference-we changed when we called pass plays. That more than anything else changed how successful we were.

Lastly. We started 1-3 on 3rd down. We finished 6-7. That's huge.

Love watching Mack run, but he got trucked on that big hit.  Hurt my ribs to watch it.

On special teams, I like the pressure on their punter.  Not so much our placekicking (outside of extra points).

Great observation regarding our lack of throwing from the pocket.  When we did, it wasn't very accurate at all.

Syracuse's OL did a pretty good job protecting Dungey throughout the game, even picking up blitzes well.  Dungey showed a lot of poise in the pocket.

Tackling need to improve quick or we will lose more games. Quitons pocket awareness is starting to look good.

You can really say that about any game.  Outside of the botched punt return for them, and the extremely stupid late hit by their safety, I'm not sure I saw anything out of the ordinary in mistakes for them.  We also had some instances and made some mistakes, where if cleaned up, the score could have been a lot worse for them(bad clock management before half costing possible TD, missed FG, allowing a fake FG to succeed, several punt block attempts that missed by inches).

Cuse is a better team than UConn.  As long as we come out with the same intensity (and this is really the big variable), and same offensive game-plan, than I see a 10+ pt victory.  If we come out flat, or go conservative playcalling on the road, then a loss is possible. Hopefully the guys are finally tired of losing and come out with that same intensity.

Sure I am not trying to take away anything from what USF did. The final score was a little deceiving in that the game was played much closer with lots of breaks going USF's way.

I really think that the heat and humidity had a lot to do with Cuse's poor performance though. All there other games for the season were in doors and they looked gassed early out there which def helped the run game. Before that our game they had been quite stingy with the run yards against legit teams, so I truly wasn't expecting the kind of showing we had.

Looking at the gameplan though, I think we really did not change much in terms of play calling. There were a few more plays called beyond the line of scrimmage and the timing of when they where called did improve. One trick play. The biggest difference to me was that the WR screens where blocked better, making the YAC possible, the WR played at the level many of us expected particularly Bronson, Adams, and Bar, and QF was able to scramble away for the rush and hit some throws in the second half against a shaky secondary. But as I told @mark_my_words I will break it down soon.

Sean Price had a huge day that won't show up on the stat sheet, his blocking was critical.  Our pass protection of flowers looks pretty bad but the run blocking is well above average.  The freshmen TE Dillon had a terrible day blocking which hurt the team.

(0:00 - 2nd) Marlon Mack run for a loss of 5 yards to the SFla 30

    • END OF 2ND QUARTER

So at the half, stat sheet will say QF cmp% looks good but in fact he is really only 2-6 for pass beyond the LOS with both passes coming in situations where Cuse is happy to give up the underneath throw. First completion was for 1 yrd the other was about a 5 yrd throw.
