Of course, that is just the B1G.  With the exception of BYU, those other ones are in the B1G's "geographical footprint."  I wonder if that has anything to do with it.  UConn at least has been as sucky as we are.  And don't bring up roundball, that doesn't have anything to do with P5 scheduling.

Rudner added the league would evaluate any other non-Power 5 schools -- programs in the AAC, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt leagues -- brought up by a Big Ten school and decide whether they would count as Power 5 opponents based on their RPI rankings in recent years and other factors.

If RPI and other factors are being taken into consideration why in the world are Army and UCONN in the mix? This seems to be an arbitrary decision without significance. I wouldn't read into it too much.

IU received an exception from the league to count Connecticut (2019, 2020) and Cincinnati (2021, 2022), both members of the American Athletic Conference, as "Power Five" opponents.

"We looked at their RPI for the last five or six years," said Mark Rudner, the Big Ten's senior associate commissioner. "If someone comes to us with a request, we'll evaluate it. That's what happened with these two. Those seemed to fit."

Rudner said teams such as Notre Dame, an independent, obviously fit the spirit of the rule, which is to increase the level of competition.

Rudner said Big Ten has denied one request for an exemption and accepted another. He declined to name the schools."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
