I say you must give Taggart this year and the next for five reasons:

 

1. If you fire him this year, no coach of any quality will want to come here.

2. The transfers that have decided to return after committing to other schools will change their minds. (Asianti included)

3. The starters we have now (for the most part) are Skippy's recruits.

4. We have had the best recruiting classes within the conference that last two years. Primarily due to WT's recruiting.

 

And number 5. The previous posts showed the number of coaches we still have on our payroll. We can't afford another!

All I remember from Skip's last game is security making some people leave/take down a big sign that the gist of was "Fire Skip" - and the entire lower levels booing those security people mercilessly. 

 

That was probably the last enjoyable USF game I went to, mostly because the few people that even bothered coming made it perfectly clear Skip had to go. What we didn't know was that Woolard would replace an indifferent coach with an outright bad one.

This is why I don't want to fire him unless the money is lined up. If no money, we need to pay off a couple coaches first.

 

Yup, USF still has to pay Holtz and Heath until 2017, I think. If Taggart gets canned this year, he'd be receiving pay until 2017 as well.

 

 

Heath is done next year - $375k;  Holtz in 2017 - $500k per year; Taggart would get $400k per year until 2018.

Exactly, the only ones are the o linemen Thor, Gudmundsson, and Djulbegovic. Whitehurst is too, but hes not even starting

I think you give it the interim coach tag. You let the app handle things while we pay off coaches and see if it gets us to a bowl game. If Coach App gets us into a bowl game, I think you have to consider giving him a shot at the full time head coach position.
