Opener Attendance

I thought we had a good turnout. The TV camera shoots across to the visitors' side, which there were about a dozen FAMU fans. I bet they had more people in the band!

 

Anyway, the student section was great. The USF side looked pretty full. Outside, there were plenty of USF fans tailgating and having fun before the game.

 

Great atmosphere! And it warmed my heart to see so many fans wearing USF gear.

Um there had to be a couple thousand FAMU fans there on the visitor side and in their band corner.  Not sure what angle tv cameras had.

Attendance will get better as we keep winning.  After we upset FSU and beat Maryland, we should see a spike for Memphis.

I was kidding with the FAMU attendance. Yes, they must have had a few thousand!

Please man, if we beat FSU and Maryland the ticketmaster server might crash as people trying to buy tickets for our conference opening showdown against memphis.

And there was a great tailgate vibe on the south side of the stadium. There was a live band and lots of family-friendly activities. For as much crappy football as we've had to endure, I took great pleasure in seeing the resliency of our fanbase to have some fun. There was a lot of cautious hope in the fans tailgating yesterday.

#USF's actual attendance (21,928 per TSA) last night vs. FAMU was its lowest in a season opener since 2006 vs. McNeese State (20,946).

People overrate AAC. Even if USF is good, attendance will not be the same because the conference is craptastic.
