2015-16 Football Prediction

... if Flowers (and I am sure he will be the starter) is average at BEST - 52% completion percentage... better than 1:1 TD to INT ratio... and 500+ yards running - then we will easily beat FAMU, Syracuse, U Conn, and SMU... and I think Maryland, Navy, ECU, and UCF are more than beatable if we can win the turnover battles. If Flowers struggles or CWT can't stick with one QB, then 4 wins might be all we see this year.

So you're looking for a young BJ Daniels like performance.

Yes... I am optimistic that Flowers can do as well as BJ did his first season... As opposed to Pat Julmiste.

Flowers = Julmiste  --> USF goes 4 - 8

Flowers = Daniels --> USF goes 6-6 or 7-5

Flowers = Grothe --> USF goes 8-4 or 9-3+

So all Flowers needs to be is as good as one of the best players in program history. No biggie.

Daniels FIRST season. Yes.

Not his LAST season, where he was basically carrying the entire team and coach on his back as best he could.

Like I said, as long as QF puts up one of the top 5-7 statistical seasons in school history, we should be fine.

I'd take 1500 yds passing, >50% completion%, 12 TD, 11 INT, 500 yards rushing and 5 rushing TDs.

If Flowers can give us what Julmiste did in 2005 AND the backfield can give us what Andre Hall gave us (does not have to be a one man show like Andre was) we can get similar results. Good enough for a bowl game and stepping stone season.

A lot of people downplay Julmiste, but he was respected in the locker room and as a leader. Got some big first downs at key times on just raw determination. He gave us just enough to get over the hump of our first bowl game.

If Flowrers can give us that i will be happy. Doesn't need to give anywhere near a record setting passing season. Just do enough at the right times and we will be fine.

I would love to be wrong about what I saw from QF...still think SB gives us the best chance to win in the first half of the season while QF continues to develop.

My memories of PJ were bad so I looked up his numbers for reference. After the last several years its puts things in perspective...

You're putting Daniels a bit higher in the order... 2009 would not be in the top 5-7 if you look at passing stats  (this is my order based on the % complete, yards, and TD/INT ratio -- if you go by QBR 2009 is actually the best rating for any QB who played most of a season - better than Grothe or Blackwell):

1 - 2008 - Grothe

2 - 2001 - Blackwell

3 - 2006 - Grothe

4 - 2007 - Grothe

5 - 2011 - Daniels

6 - 2002 - Blackwell

7 - 2012 - Daniels

8 - 2000 - Blackwell

9 - 2009 - Daniels

10 - 2010 - Daniels

11 - 2014 - White

12 - 2005 - Julmiste

13 - 2004 - Julmiste

14 - 2003 - Banks

15 - 2013 - White/Bench/Eveld/Floyd

And you're conveniently leaving out 1) BJs stats are without the benefit of the first part of the season before he was starting and 2) the 770 yards he rushed for.
