  1. Meanwhile, in Orlando ... they're getting butt hurt about commits visiting USF.
  2. If that happened, we'd have quite the stable of hosses at QB. I think I'd breathe easier at the position than I ever have before. We've always seemed to be an ACL tear away from disaster where other programs always seem to have studs waiting in line to take over.
  3. Hopefully we keep him. Not going based on anything, but anytime I get excited about a hire I'm always reminded things like when Telly left; We hired Autry Denson, and he left for Notre Dame right away or Robert Weiner who was employed with us all of a day.
  4. Darn. Guess I'm too much of a young'un for that.
  5. And so the tradition began. As players walk out of the locker room of the 59,798 seat stadium (one for each of his morose posts on the Bulls pen) ,they all tap on a sign emblazoned with his immortal, insightful words: rutgers will destroy us
  6. Couple of things surprised me: The third-highest valued G5 team is Connecticut, valued only 5% less than us. Quite a few of our elite former Big East brethren that have moved onto the P5 are ranked below us: Pittsburgh (-12%), West Virginia (-12%), Louisville (-14%), and Rutgers (-36%) (maybe not so much of a surprise there). The names that seem to be mentioned most extensively in Big 12 expansion are valued significantly less than us: Boise State (-19%), Cincinnati (-63%), Houston (-71%), SMU (-71%), Memphis (-72%). The only one worth more is BYU (+7%). Doesn't mean anything in expansion talks, that I know of, but not too bad for a team with no OCS. Or maybe that would subtract from our value? Maybe we should get an OCS thread going
  7. According to Bleacher Report: It's the same as a regular active-roster contract, with the regular rules for minimum veteran salaries, cap charges, signing bonuses, etc. The only difference is that it doesn't take effect until the start of the next League Year (this year, that's March 11 at 4 p.m, per CBS Sports). Teams can sign players to futures contracts as soon as the previous regular season is over, but the contract won't count against the salary cap or 53-man limit. Instead, it'll count against the salary cap and 90-man camp limit of the following season. In the meantime, the player goes on the reserve/futures list and can't be signed by any other team. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1947667-everything-you-need-to-know-about-nfl-futures-contracts
  8. There never was a Big 4 aside from that billboard gimmick.
  9. I don't think I'd agree with that. That's belittling this year because it was the closest we've ever been. I do agree that we should be heavy favorites to win the division and get our shot.
  10. I don't see it listed on Amazon anymore. The only place I see right now is eBay. http://m.ebay.com/itm/SOUTH-FLORIDA-BULLS-NCAA-Schutt-Authentic-MINI-Football-Helmet-USF-MATTE-GREEN-/261942716809
  11. Got one of the new matte green mini-helmets and a glass wall clock for my home office.
  12. Not making excuses for Woolard, but after Skip hired Chris Cosh, I'd probably start tightening the screws on DC hires, too. Not that it helped seeing as we ended up with Chuck Breezy. There was probably some misguided, incompetent logic behind it.
  13. It is possible to double our wins and go 16 - 0. We'd need to add Hawaii to next years schedule, which NCAA rules allow as a 13th game. Win the CCG and CFPs and there we have it, 16 wins. Get it done!

  15. If he's class of 2006, he probably has no eligibility left
  16. My face was stuck like that starting with the McNeese State game. I was on disability until after the Syracuse game. It's good to be back at work...
  17. Had it been several years earlier, there's no way he would have competed with the most powerful scowl in the building.
  18. That's what I thought, but for some reason they appear to have been included as part of West Florida and now my beloved state appears to be suffering from an erection lasting longer than 4 hours and needs to see a doctor immediately.
  19. You didn't look high enough. They got a lot of points because of their New Years Day bowl. Look again.
  20. Jeezum crow! Where did that grotesque representation of the state come from? "Is that a panhandle in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
  21. Is that supposed to be a more impressive way of saying "several?"
  22. Hmm. Good to know. I figured a Hilltopper was a mini-Mountaineer.

  24. That's weird, I checked Rivals and they have him listed as 28th at his position, 19th in the state, and 139th nationally unless I'm missing something.htt Still a phenomenal pickup but weird discrepancy in information. http://sports.yahoo.com/smu/football/recruiting/player-Darnell-Salomon-154045
