  1. That's because they haven't gotten the chance to vote on us yet.
  2. History repeats itself. Don't let the fact that he's a Mr. Rogers lookalike fool you. He's not exactly known for class. Tuberville left Texas Tech in the middle of a recruit dinner to take the Cincy job. This was the same year he ripped off an assistant's headset while throwing a tantrum. He couldn't hack it his first go-round in the Big 12 now he's hoping to crawl back. Or maybe he's just trying to get away from USF. Poor Tubs can't catch a break. We ran him out of the SEC after beating him at Auburn, then when he ends up in the AAC he goes 1-2 against us.
  3. Kids got to have a heck of a brain, too if Lafayette, Duke, and BC are after him.
  4. I'd think B12. You're at least going to pocket extra money, get better exposure games, and build your brand. Worst case scenario, if the TV deal falls apart, you're going to be in the same position you were in before the B12. If the B12 collapses completely and no Power conference wants you by that point, any of the G5 conferences will take you in order to try to bring more legitimacy to the conference and you'd probably even be able to negotiate a higher TV share than the other members.
  5. That's the sense I'm getting out of it so far. Negotiate Memphis/Houston entrance for severely reduced TV $ share, pocket the extra, grab a sponsorship from FedEx, some land for UT, and ride that pony into the ground. When TV deal falls apart or something better comes along, UT, OU, OKST, etc. can bolt and let the B12 fall apart.
  6. Looks like at least 3 Bulls are vying for him -- Lawrence Dawsey, Ron Dugans, and whoever we have on him.
  7. When you're facing off against the #1 and #2 recruiting classes in the nation, expect to get steamrolled.
  8. Have to disagree there. Given two scenarios: Launching a miniscule capsule perched upon 500,000 gallons of highly explosive fuel into the radioactive vacuum of space, deploying two astronauts in a tinfoil box onto a ball of rock moving at 2,300 miles per hour, and returning with all occupants alive all with the use of slide rulers and a computer less powerful than a pocket calculator. OR The American getting a seat at the adults table. Only the first one is realistic.
  9. No doubt. CWT appears to be hopefully hitting his stride as well. On paper, the coaches we've added this offseason have the potential to be pretty **** good in their own right and should complement the existing personnel nicely. Losing Hope and Allen hurts but I'm pretty optimistic about most of our staff this season.
  10. Actually, we should be good doing what we're doing. The last time I checked, Tampa was Top 5 in D1 prospects on current rosters. May have even been Number 3 -- I'm on mobile so I don't have my data in front of me. Regardless, CWT just needs to stay the course. There's so much talent here that he can build a great team without leaving the area. It's one of the reasons the B12 would do well to make inroads into the area.
  11. I would guess keeping kids home hasn't hurt. The City of Houston produces more Division 1 recruits than every city in the country other than Miami (176 players currently on D1 rosters). The University of Houston currently has more of those players on their roster than any other team.
  12. Worked well enough in the CJL years though now we've arguably got better coordinators running the O.
  13. I can't see that it would make a difference. I don't think an OCS will increase our value to the B12 in any way.
  14. I have to disagree. I can't find any sources to support that. It looks like the fastest growing metro area is the Villages near Orlando. Hillsborough appears to have added the 14th most residents, number wise in the U.S. Percentage-wise the growth ranks 339. The two fastest growing large counties are in the Houston metro area. Orange, FL has us beat for 2015 growth. http://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2015/cb15-56.html http://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2015/12/04/hillsborough-among-the-fastest-growing-large.html
  15. I foresee not getting into Big 12. If we did, we wouldn't be able to post in this thread anymore.
  16. I'm just shocked that the quality of subs and beaches was not listed as a deciding factor.
  17. Wasn't the PAC trying to court Texas at some point? Maybe Houston was like "I'll be your Texas, baby. I'll be whoever you want."
  18. What makes you think he's not? Wait...don't answer that.
  19. 1) Dillon 2) South Florida 3) Mack 4) Old Bull 5) Daughter's B-day party is that day so I probably won't make it.
