  1. Rich Bassacia has interviewed for the HC job when Leavitt was canned and again after Skip. Believe he was interviewed for the South Carolina job as well this last go round. He's a career NFL Special Teams guy. The general response has been he's one of the best football minds there is but has no current recruiting ties. He's never been a college head coach or coordinator and hasn't touched a college job in 16 years.
  2. That's old hat, my friend. USF is notorious for leaving old stuff on their website. Observe: http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205364511
  3. To paraphrase George Orwell, with this new system "all are equal, but some are more equal than others."
  4. Didn't he recommend CWT to us in the first place? Dungy giveth, Dungy taketh away.
  5. This coaching search is becoming a distraction and jeopardizing the future of USF football. Therefore, I've talked things over with my family and for the sake of USF, I have elected to accept the head coaching position at the University of Oregon. I'm sure my lack of experience will be a concern for UO fans, so I've elected to actually earn my pay rather than expect it like most coaches. I will accept a base salary of only $500,000. This will make me, by far, the lowest paid coach in the PAC 12. My contract will stipulate that I will receive an additional $250,000 per win. Therefore, I will only get paid amongst the upper echelon of college coaches when I deliver Oregon their national title. I understand the athletic department at Oregon would like to retain the services of Willie Taggart, alas, for the sake of my alma mater, I must decline. However, as a token of good faith, I will bring with me a Taggart disciple that will be my heir apparent should I not deliver upon the lofty expectations of Ducks fans. Therefore, I am naming Raymond Woodie as my defensive coordinator at the University of Oregon. Although I understand it will be a challenge for USF to replace a bright, young, defensive mind, it is a sacrifice we must all make. I will gather a press conference as soon as I get a return call from Phil Knight accepting my offer.
  6. It's a bubble coming from the nose. It's a trope used in animation to represent sleep, much in the same way that 'zzz' is used. It originated in Japan but has become more common in Western cartoons. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SnotBubble
  7. If I hover my mouse over the emoji in the tweet, it says 'sleepy face.'
  8. And we're going to building a stadium -- and we're going to make UCF pay for it. They said they won't pay for it? Guess what? I just added 10,000 seats.
  9. For those worried that Taggart is leaving, this link says otherwise.
  10. D'Ernest has adopted an unconventional rushing style: when he gets the ball, the end zone runs to him.
  11. I'm hearing that D'Ernest Johnson had also turned down the Oregon HC job.
  12. Yep. Red jerseys. Northeastern cesspool. Whiny douchebag coach. Strong running game. D has our number. Starting to look like Rutgers 2.0.
  13. One line sentences. One day I'd like to be paid To write sports haiku.
  14. In an Oregonian (local newspaper) poll of whom the people want as head coach, the Top 5 are: P.J. Fleck (Western Michigan) 21.63%, Chip Kelly (S.F. 49ers) 18.22%, Beau Baldwin (Eastern Washington) 13.11%, Greg Schiano (Ohio State) 11.67%, Scott Frost (Central Florida) 10.45%. Willie Taggart is...not listed amongst the Top 11. 'Other' got 6.82%. http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2016/11/who_would_you_hire_to_be_the_n.html
  15. I wouldn't say Willie has no ties to the West. Remember, he was a Harbaugh Assistant Coach at Stanford and also was in charge of recruiting Southern California while there as well. Harbaugh could point him to some good West Coast recruiters as he builds his staff.
  16. I dunno; I think Herman underperformed this year. Houston, even at 9-3, arguably had as good of a season, or better, than USF because of the two Top 5 wins. However, those were negated by 3 conference losses. In the end, neither Houston nor USF won their divisions, but the expectations were higher for UH and they disappointed more than we did.
  17. 'Member when we thought Randy Shannon was going to be DC on Taggart's first staff? I 'member.
  18. I don't think the B12 will look to expand again, probably ever. If I'm not mistaken, they sold off the pro-rata clause. I'd think if they expanded, they'd have to divvy up the existing money and there's no way that's happening.
  19. Looks like we're finishing the regular season ranked; #23 in coaches poll: http://sportspolls.usatoday.com/ncaa/football/polls/coaches-poll/
  20. I think they were supposed to play an additional OOC cupcake game but the LSU game got moved to that weekend due to the hurricane.
