Les Miles and Charlie Strong to fight to the death for the USF HC position.

Can they? Yes. Phil Knight was willing to put up 10 million / yr for the right head coach so I imagine similarly money is no object for crucial staff. Will they? Who knows. Brady Hoke was set to make $700,000 / yr as DC so obviously we would pay Strong more than that. The X factor is Oregon booster pockets and Strong's buyout agreement with the horns.

To be fair, looking at the stands the past 4 years, it looks like neither the university nor the Tampa area cared about him one way or another.

A few minutes into the presser, as they were trying to fix the technical difficulties with the video, some reporter says "looks like they all went tie shopping together." Yeah, I heard your smarmy comment, lady; you WILL treat Coach T with respect.

Disclaimer: CJL apologist, here. Aside from a 10 win season, what more did CWT do that CJL not? CWT, in most other regards, accomplished less. He still didn't win a conference championship. Didn't win a bowl game. He finished the regular season ranked, but that's in jeopardy if we lose the bowl game. If we do win the bowl game and finish the season ranked, does he get credit for that since he bailed before the end of the season? Im thankful he rebuilt USF football, but he needed another season or two before I'm ready to supplant CJL as the GOAT. He lacked a signature win and didn't deliver on his promise to win multiple championships (or even one). He was hardheaded -- he's given credit for being flexible, but it took 2 seasons for him to figure out we're not a power run team. How much begging from the team (and probably pressure from his boss) before he saw the light there? His defense cost us the opportunity to play for a conference title. When asked about it, he didn't seem to indicate publicly that any changes would be made. We'll never know if he was going to do anything about it, but on the surface, it sure looked like more hardheadedneds and cronyism. I don't want to diminish what CWT did, I respect the guy, I want him to stay. However, I'm not ready to call him #1 based on a season and a half of 'success' in the AAC.

Is the algorithm available for HC?

I don't know that it would make a difference. How many state governors lobbied for their schools to enter the Big 12? The only "political" action that would do anything is some sort of anti-trust action that can prove that the TV networks and power conferences are damaging G5 schools.
