No G5 team could ever break the top 10 in CFP rankings. I don't care how many seasons you go undefeated. In their eyes, we can't compete...just think about the name "group of five" vs. "power five". Our name implies that we are just a ragtag group of also rans and they are our lords.

How much coverage does USF get in Gainesville? Anybody live up there?

Usf has the worst College fans I have ever experienced as far as lack of enthusiasm. Stadium experience was better at the citadel games and the mercer game that I went to this year...That was d2 football.

At this point I'd say the bad boy bowl against fiu is pretty much a lock.

Bad Boy Mowers bowl should be exciting against fiu. Going to be a tough game. I hope we show up in droves. That would really get us some respect! I jest...our bowls suck.

This is a loss that usf couldn't afford as a building program. Coaching has been mediocre at best all year.

I think we are better than Alabama and Clemson because USF is my alma mater! Also, I don't ever say that USF cannot accomplish something. We don't settle and we have a track record of proving people wrong.

Let's see, we are undefeated yet: attendance problems, coach wants out mid way through the season, people are leaving us out of top 25 predictions, and we are one loss away from the bad boy mowers bowl against who the f cares. Yeah, this is little league football for sure.

The constant running up the middle has rarely worked at USF. When you have so much speed and elusiveness to the outside, I don't know why you wouldn't use it?

Miami was a nobody until they lined up a few years of schedules including the best teams in the country on the road and then proceeded to beat them. It's a risk...if you schedule those teams with no return game, you need to win. Imagine the crowd for the home game after beating Ohio State on the road and jumping into the top 10?

Imagine the attendance if we were bad...what would it be? 5-6 thousand a game actual?

I agree 1,000 percent. The P5 wants everyone else to think we aren't relevant. They only gave the g5 3 crappy bowl games against p5 opponents. They want to make it so that no matter what we do, we are playing for tallest midget. That is why our attendance is only slightly better than fcs level. Perception now is that we are only slightly better than am fcs program. Casual fans don't come out for that and p5 can keep all the attention and money.

I would be happy with either of those games. Obviously I want the Cottton Bowl, but the Bad Boy Mowers Bowl sounds great as well. The game is in St. Pete so our fans should travel well and easily sell out that stadium, and a win against a decent Southern Miss. team would really signal that USF has turned the corner and deserves national prominence! P.S. that last part was tongue in cheek...the bad boys mower bowl sounds like a nightmare wrapped in a turd blanket.

Kentucky, Iowa, and Air Force ruining my night...so many almost upsets this week.

I'll say this again, we are a ranked team with an fcs level fan base. This is why our ceiling is low as a program. If we had the building rocking Thursday night with a packed house generating excitement and Buzz for the team on national tv, we wouldn't be so dissed in the media. The media knows where the fans are and don't think that didn't factor into their coverage of a team and rankings a little bit. 12th man is important for so many things.

Ok guys, I don't think this topic has been approached, so I will bring it up.One of the big driving forces behind college football popularity is smack talk, bragging rights, and rivalries. For example, If you are a team like FSU, you don't want to lose a game because Gator fans will not let you hear the end of it on message boards, at work, or at the grocery store even. I originally created my user name, many moons ago, to smack talk with other teams and we had some good banter going back and forth on the old bullspen and on the Rivals message boards. Cardinals fans, UCF fans, Rutgers fans, and W. Virginia fans would all let us hear it when we lost and we would do so likewise. We ripped W. Virginia for being couch burning hillbillies and it generally made the games more exciting because you felt like you had something to gain or lose with every game besides the tick in the standings column. I haven't felt that way for many years. Not many posters on here from other teams talking smack and getting us riled up...we aren't rallying to defend USF's honor on opposing message boards. It's almost like we are playing football in a vacuum. I know that it may be immature of me, but I miss the smack talk and fan rivalries.I don't give two shakes about Temple, Tulsa, Houston, Tulane, or Memphis fans because i've never honestly interacted with them. Honestly, just like the team uses bulletin board material to get fired up before a game, fans do the same thing. Problem is that there is nothing to get fired up about in this conference....I will probably never meet an actual Tulane fan in my life. How can we get back the fan intensity and bring back the fun yet friendly banter with another team's fans?

Auburn barely beats mercer and moves up in the rankings. USF only wins by 30+ points and gets ripped for not having enough style points...sigh.
