Thank you Coach Strong for drawing a line in the sand early in your tenure.  Great to see accountability alive and well and dealt with swiftly.  I hope the team listened during your meeting.

I'm a proud USF Alumni!

Go Bulls!

"When you look at this university and how great an institution it is, and the football program, it is a privilege to represent this program," Strong said. "And there are standards and there are values that we uphold, and our players understand it is an obligation and it is a responsibility to represent it the right way."

Is this about Childs?

My comment wasn't so much about Childs, but more about Strong's quote and more importantly his leadership.

Other than Baylor, I don't think there is a program in America that would not have cut the player. I don't see this decision as a big deal.

Except that it was swift and decisive, but I agree Childs was not much of a test. I feel that CCS, like I felt about xCWT, would have cut Marlon Mack if he screwed up for much less than this, though. I applaud both coaches for setting clear expectations early, and being careful to hold accountability in these kids.

Although would never want to see something like this happen but since it was obviously ordained to happen, would have been interesting if it would have happened in Ybor ....

I'm sure the AD sets the tempo on these discussions/decisions.

Great point Trip.  Or if it would have happened at UCF would folks have been as forgiving or logical minded?

If Urban Meyer was the coach, Childs would be a team captain in 2017.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
