"As of the first day of practice, we're moving very fast," said Flowers, whose 4,330 total yards last season included 1,530 on the ground. "But I see I could do a lot of things in this offense, a lot of passing. You might not see me run like that a lot, but at the end of the day it's what's best for the team."

This is very concerning.  I knew this might happen.  Taking away one of QF's greatest attribute.  His legs.

We need to see him scrambling around making things happen on the move, not trying to make him a pocket passer.  Don't try to jam a square peg into a round hole.  He needs to get 10-15 carries both designed runs and taking off under pressure.  I hope they don't take that away too much.  He did rush for over 1,500 yards.  When Quinton is improvising, good things happen. I hope Gilbert is smart enough to see that.

So, you knew something that hasn't happened yet had a possibility of maybe happening, but maybe not. Keep up the solid analysis.

Remember when Skip Holtz wanted BJ to be more of a passer? Hmmmmmm

No. I remember BJ wanted to be more of a pocket passer. Maybe you have the two of them confused.

Doesn't matter who wanted him to be a pocket passer if u know you can win with him running. That falls on the coach.

Riiiiiiight...

Skip: "BJ, I want you to run more despite you wanting to be more of a pocket passer."

BJ: "And if I say no?"

Skip: "I'll start Floyd or Eveld."

BJ: "I may not even wear cleats tomorrow."

Yes I remember and Skip did not let up on that poor thinking.  Have to let natural born athletics play to their strengths.   BJ would hold onto the ball too long staying in the pocket then get sacked or fumble.

The only problem is BJ was 100% opposite of the above.....

Stop it. We all know CCS is trying slow the offense down and make QF into a pocket passer.

It appears many didn't pay attention to Flowers passing ability last season.  He looked really good... I mean take the bowl game for instance... he was picking SC apart. I think this offense suits him more than Taggart's did.  If you didn't notice, we didn't exactly open up the playbook last season.  We basically ran what... 10-15 plays if that.  They were effective but a lot of the time it was because the play broke down and Flowers basically did what he does and made plays that otherwise were trashed work.  I look forward to his further development.  This is the offense Taggart went to Baylor to study when he came up with this "gulf coast offense"... so I'd imagine some will look the same... but I think USF will be better than last season.  I don't think this is one of those rough transitions.
