TAMPA, JULY 2, 2015 â€“ University of South Florida Head Coach Willie Taggart today named David Gilbertson to the position of assistant coach on the Bulls’ staff with oversight of tight ends.

Gilbertson joined the USF staff last summer as a graduate assistant coach working with the offense. He replaces Stu Holt who departed the staff in order to move his family back to their home area.

“David is a really smart, cerebral coach who brings a lot of energy, is great with our kids and has their respect,†Taggart said. “He is the son of a coach and has been with our program for a year now and really knows our system and what we want to do. He’ll be a great fit for the Bulls moving forward.â€

Gilbertson played quarterback at Washington State, where he was recruited by and played for former USF offensive coordinator Paul Wulff and then Mike Leach. He earned two letters and was a Pac-12 All-Academic honoree during his five seasons on the team before graduating in 2013 with a degree in communication. He saw action in several Cougars games as a holder on special teams and as a back-up quarterback.

It would be hard to get a coach from the outside in and have them digest the system and get acclimated with the players.  This move is understandable and it;s not like Holt was some kind of ace recruiter or anything.

According this source, it's around $37,000 for a GA. Source

In 2014, Holt was making $130,000 [#625 or Control+F & search by name] Source

I can't till the following thread is listed:

Harlan Names (insert name) As New Head Football Coach

Until then, posts like this are pointless.
