Looking good in that Bills uni. Very cool.

Saw an article posted somewhere (can't recall where) saying Davis has a decent chance to stick.  Would be great to see a WR see some NFL time.  CMitch was likely better (Bogan, too), but for whatever reason, no dice.

I don't recall their physical statures exactly, but I'm pretty sure that Davis has the size they both lacked.  Small receivers can make it as a slot receiver, but fewer of those spots exist.  Freakshow has the physical tools, if he can keep his head on straight and work hard.

Mitchell arguably had the best physical stature of any receiver we've ever had. Tall. Fast. Long. Just couldn't put it all together in NFL.

Mitchell was okay, but I'd agree with Shadow, 'dre has more natural skills to go with the size. They don't call him freakshow for nothing.

^ I don't disagree. I'm merely responding to his point about "Davis having the size they both lacked". CMitch was much bigger and faster than Dre. If he had Dre's ball skills he'd be in the pro bowl, lol

I wouldn't try to take anything away from Carlton, he was one of my fave WRs for us. If dude could have stayed healthy, he would have set the records IMO.

Mitchell was 6'4", and if he played his senior year, he'd hold most of our receiving records.  He got drafted by Cleveland, and I thought he had a shot, since they weren't exactly stocked at WR.

Davis was inconsistent, and often pulled up/short if contact was near.  I wonder if his lack of attack game hurts him at this level.  I think being challenged at this level, and being trained by the best coaches in the world, he may be able to develop his weak areas and improve his game.

I thought Bogan was one of the best hands/fighters.  His TD v Lville in the back of the end zone is a classic (40-50 yd BJ bomb).  Also, his sideline grab at our UM win kept us in the game.

Had he played 4 years, Davis doesn't break any of his career records.

Yep, no chance as is. Now the interesting scenario would be if Davis had a quality QB and an O line, would he have put up unbeatable numbers? I think his USF career would have been hugely different.

I don't recall Mitchell being that tall.  Maybe because we used to have several on the field at once throwing a lot of underneath stuff.  Still, he had his shot at the NFL, just like Dre.

That's absolutely fair.  Many ragged on BJ, but if if Davis had BJ and Grothe for 4 years, his numbers would be much better.

6'3" according to combine.

Frankly, the measurables aren't close. As others have said, if CM didn't bolt when CJL was swept away, Davis doesn't sniff any records.

I'm not trying to put down Davis. He, and later Mack, were the among the only skill players deserving of a D1 scholarship not recruited by CJL.
