Spent this weekend preparing for an attending the Orlando City Lions soccer match, so I got behind on this thread.

I do like Angel's Envy, but it is just behind Knob Creek for me so the price differential isn't really worth it.  But it is a very good change of pace.  Woodford Reserve is another winner, very close to the Creek in quality and the flavor is somewhat similar.

For mint julep you wouldn't go wrong with Woodford Reserve.  Since your mixing it, Four Roses yellow label would probably work very well.  It is a good choice for a lower price.  I've also recently purchased Two Stars which I like quite a bit, especially for the price.

Too many bourbons, to little time...

Which bourbon do you all prefer for your Mint Juleps on Derby Day? I always go with Maker's 54, but if be interested in options.

Don't drink mint juleps, so I couldn't help. I don't usually mix good bourbon.

Zachary what I was thinking. Seems crazy to add strong flavors like mint to the good stuff. Might as well use the cheap stuff.

What do you consider cheap stuff??

Under $15 a bottle?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
