Pakistan is AWFUL. A ten year rebuild may not be long enough with the coaching, corruption within the system, and lack of domestic competition. 

 

At least Holtz's and Heath's contracts will eventually run out. If Taggart doesn't succeed, his contract will eventually expire too. You can't say that for Pakistan, because every time they hire a coach worth something, they eventually fire him because some ex-player wants to coach the team, and do quite badly at it (if the matches in Australia are any indication). 

 

Off the cricket stuff now. Let's be real.

 

USF is in a talented state, we have great talent, and we still have opportunities to build a program in both football and basketball. And if they aren't succeeding, well, there are always nonrevenue teams to cheer on, and if you just don't feel like spending your money or time on USF athletics, we live in a great state with great weather, and plenty of things to do. Compare that with living in a 3rd world country with nothing going for it and worsening economics by the day.

 

We have it so good yet we don't even know it. And we can always do better by our lives and by our school if we want to (unless you're already financially set in life, have everything you could want, are already a big time donor to USF). 

 

I know times are tough here in Tampa, with those gnats to the East getting bigger teeth, and with the teams almost unwatchable right now. But I sincerely hope you will continue to support USF. Because when all else fails, you could have to suffer the agony of being a fan of the Pakistan cricket team.

Storming out the door in disgust for your alma mater is like doing the same to your family at Thanksgiving. It's hard not to, some years, but you know you gotta see those people again, so why do that!? By all means vent, 'cause it can be entertaining for us all, but don't slam the door and go fetal. Hopefully you still love your school and its many other achievements.
