Give Cwt the team Holtz got and I'm curious what would happen.

Actually may have been pretty good. Maybe a little weak at WR, Landi at TE could have been pretty good. Plancher and Ben Williams.

Pretty strong D. Could have done as well as Skip. The second year, if Scott still came on board (Scott was Skip's recruit) would have been interesting.

willie would have taken BJ out in favor of someone not ready to see the field as soon as he has the opportunity

Skip earned his firing.   He completely ignored the QB position in recruiting.  Year 1 he brought in Gunsby who never ever really saw practice time.  Year 2 he brought in Matt Floyd.   Year 3 he didn't bring in a QB, and that's knowing that BJ Daniels was a Senior.    In the middle of his 3rd year when BJ got hurt is when the team started to look like a complete and total disaster and they haven't been the same since.    Period.

Here's another interesting stat between Skip and Taggart too.

In 6 total years of recruiting (2010 - 2015), they have recruiting a combined 80 three or four star players.   Only 1 of those players was a QB (Flowers), and as we have already seen he is much more of an athlete then he is a QB.   This is using the Scout website btw, but it holds true for pretty much every site.   Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Mike White was also 3 stars.

Lmao.  If Willie had even freshman BJ Daniels this team would have beaten Maryland, ECU, and maybe even Wisconsin and Memphis.   At the very worst we would be 6-5 right now.   Our passing offense would be about the same, but that 500 yards per season of rushing by him would have made all the difference.

Willie has has three crappy QB's right now.  That's the bottom line.   White is a 50% passer that has rushed for negative yards this year.   Bench is just as inaccurate as White and is a little bit more mobile.   Flowers can't throw the football but can run.    If we start the next season with any of those three at QB next year we are screwed again.  He needs to bring the best junior college QB he can find, and then recruit someone young to learn for a few years.

According to Scout White was a 2-star QB ranked 78th coming out of high school.

The guy played one year of QB in high school,  There are some High School Seniors right now that have more games played under their belt then White has had in High School and at USF combined.   White seems like a good guy, and I think he really is working hard behind the scenes to get better, but when you have that little experience leading a team, bad things are most likely going to happen.

You mean the 2-6 team with an NFL scout team QB that lost to Ball State and Temple and barely squeaked out a win in the last second against Nevada was just starting to look like a complete disaster after BJ went down??  BJ covered up a lot of holes on the team, but we were a disaster in Holtz year 3.   An unmitigated disaster after BJ went down.

But obviously Taggart inherited a team than should win 8-10 games in year 1 and 2
