Just watched it on ESPN3 replay. Ugh, what a way to lose after playing perfect defense through 2 OTs. When the intro'd the kicker for the last kick as the highest scorer in the conference who ironically was struggling in the tournament, I knew we were doomed. And sure enough, he doesn't even hit the net, it was like the ugliest shank FG or Punt you'd ever see.

...Soccer was the one thing we were good at. Team just didn't have enough offense this year.

We haven't had enough offense since 2011. The talent on this year's team was huge. I enjoyed watching them play together more than the past couple of years. Throughout the season the team attacked more than fans had become accustomed to. It seems that we went back to our ways of possession and strong defense in the tournament.

 

Kiefer will have to bring in some new forwards for the 2015 season, but there are plenty of youth on the squad that will be returning. Look for us to bring in some JUCO guys along with talented freshmen.

Falling short of NCAA

 

After its first 10-win season since 2011, the USF men’s soccer team did not receive an at large bid for the NCAA tournament.

 

The Bulls fell short of a repeat in the AAC championship game, losing to Tulsa 6-5 on penalty kicks Sunday.

 

Prior to this year, USF had made seven consecutive NCAA appearances.
