You guys calling for Flowers, did you see the two picks? He put way too much air under the ball. He is not ready.

Did you see terrible PI not called on the 2nd. The first was a 50/50 ball and the receiver needs to make a better play.

I did, that doesn't change the fact that it was an awful pass and a poor decision.  He may turn out to be the best QB ever for USF, but right now, he's not ready.

After the game, I bumped into a guy who said he was Flowers' uncle.  Had a white Flowers jersey.  Asked him if he was family, so he told me.  I told him it was a rough start, but to tell Quinton that we're all pulling for him and hope he learns from today, and grows each week.

 

The uncle was cool, smiled painfully a bit, and told me he's going to keep working hard and getting better.  Said the game is much faster than HS, and assured me QF is a true weapon and will make a positive impact here soon.

 

I know many are down on Flowers, and his 2 INTs certainly didn't help, but meeting his family, I thought it important to give them some positive encouragement and let him know we want him, and us, to be successful.

 

He was a nice guy, and I really hope he's right.
