USA walked on this one...final 105-62. But some good moments for Coach O and the DR team. USF mentioned a few times too.

 

USA probably took it even more seriously, after watching DOM beat UK on Sunday.

I haven't supported USA Olympic/ International teams in basketball since the travesty that was Barcelona

 

I was there in Barcelona for the '92 Olympics (side note - if you EVER get the chance to go to an Olympics, GO!!!!!!!! they're awesome!)

 

I felt like some of the Russians must have felt when the old USSR was dominating in so many sports. A little bit of pride - maybe 10% - at the success of American citizens, but 90% revulsion at the perversion of the amateur status of the Olympics.

 

It was impossible then to explain why professional players should be allowed in the Olympics, and it's still impossible now, IMO. "Because we can" is a good response form dogs, but not from Olympic committees.

For "us" it's a win, USF got the name plugged, and they even landed on the topic for a short time.
