I can't get it up for this season...

Here we are with 40 something days until the season starts and I just can't feel the excitement. I feel there really isn't anything to get excited about... Yeah I will be at the WCU game but it just doesn't feel right. I don't know what to think... These days I am more interested in the launch of SEC Network, what kind of scandal will rock the CFB world, and what hat Corso will put on in week 1...

The lack of coverage of USF football, the breakaway looming, the playoffs, the state of play last year, etc.. has put a damper on this year. Heck, I looked forward to the NCAA College game to get me in the mood too and even that's gone.  But you know what? No way in Hades am I going to be more excited about the G.D. SEC Network than USF FOOTBALL. NO WAY, NO HOW. Screw the SEC Network!  Pardon my French. GO BULLS!

There is nothing to get excited about yet. Just wait until there is actual news when camp opens in about days.

Have we heard anything about when our conference media days are?

Really, though, why would anyone care about the SEC network unless you are really an SEC fan?

part of the problem is we arent competing at the highest level

 

usf is a top university in every area YET we are second tier in football IN A FOOTBALL STATE

With the Bulls Rally at Capogna's Dug Out last week and the Live Green and Gold photo op yesterday in Ybor City I'm as excited as ever for the season to start.

 

Just like anything else in life, it is what YOU CHOOSE to make of it.

It is understandable, however. Consider that we're coming off of the worst season in the school's short history. Statistically, an improvement would be winning more than two games. We're no longer - regardless of how we got there - seated at the big people's table, and it doesn't look like an invitation to pull up a chair is in the offing. The "playoff" is the big news this season, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who believes* that - by the end of this season - USF will be the highest ranked non-P5 team, and find itself playing in one of the premier bowls. Conference play is pretty much CUSA 2.0 and even Cronkite is going to say the war is not winnable. Excitement has varying levels. Given that this is still a rebuilding season, for me, it's more of being anxious to see the season start and see some improvements that put last year farther into the rear view mirror.
