I dont see anything too impressive.

I know we desperately need another big but are we grasping at straws with this one?

Those are his FR stats. His SO stats look a little better ... http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2013-14/div1/players/jaleelcousinshqzw  ... except for FT %.   :o

According to those JUCO stats he's a scoring machine.  3.7 pts per min played.  Dang!!!!

The min played stats are incorrect unfortunately. If you look at the team, all of them have an average of 1 min per game. Doesn't make me trust the rest of the stats too much.

Now, THAT is referred to as a DEEP bench! :D

After all the guard talk, i am glad to see we added another big. Congrats Coach O, now it's just a question of his development and that of our other newer recruits.

So the title says 6-9/6-10, and the tweet about him signing says 6-11...by the time he hits our roster he'll be 7-0 or so? Any official word on his true height?

Corey BenderUSFNation Field Reporter

Per a source, 6-foot-11, 290-pound big man, Jaleel Cousins, brother of NBA big man, Demarcus Cousins, signed with the University of South Florida on Tuesday.

After the departure of 6-foot-10 athletic freshman, John Egbunu, adding beef in the frontcourt was a priority for Orlando Antigua and his staff in their first year in Tampa Bay at the University of South Florida.

Per a source, Jaleel Cousins, the brother of Sacramento Kings star, DeMarcus Cousins, faxed in his LOI to Antigua and his staff on Tuesday, just weeks after receiving a scholarship offer from the AAC program.

In his sophomore campaign, Cousins averaged 7.1 points and 4.8 rebounds on 52.9 percent shooting from the field, while averaging just a hair short of a block per game.

The 6-foot-10, 290-pound center had his best game of the season against San Jacinto College-Central on Jan. 4, where the Alabama native brought down 15 rebounds and scored 13 points in a 83-78 win.

In a 85-76 win over Panola College on Jan. 15, Cousins scored a season-high 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He also scored in double-figures 10 times in 2013, while starting 22-of-31 games for the Bulldogs.

Cousins is the fifth player out of the 2014 recruiting class to sign with the Bulls, joining Troy Holston, Dinero Mercurius, Nehemias Morillo and Ruben Guerrero. Antigua and his staff also landed highly-touted transfer, Kareem Canty, who won't be eligible to play until the 2015-16 season after transferring in from Marshall.

Thanks Mama and Trip for the clarification. Was he putting up those numbers playing starter's minutes? What really concerned me was the 47% FG percentage... Not what you want to see from a 6'10 290#er. (nice to see he got it up above 50% now).

Don't sweat low numbers from JUCO big men. It's tough to get the ball from the JUCO guards hands, as they shoot all the time. When a coach recruits these big men from JUCO, they must go on the eye test and vision of how they will be used in a D1 system.

Also, these Texas JUCO's have 12 D1 caliber players on them (all freshmen and sophs) trying to get to their next gig in a short time.

Would that explain the lack of Block numbers also ... a lot of shooting from outside the paint so not a whole of chances to block? Egbunu only averaged a little over 1 block but watching the games, there were a lot of altered shots put up to try and avoid him ...
