Wow...4 star PF.

Anyone know if there are MBB recruiting rankings, and if so, where are we? Seems like a very good "get".

247 currently has us at 48, with just Santos listed. Land Montero and it probably jumps us up a bit

New York, NY (Future150) -- On Wednesday morning, Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) power forward Luis Santos gave his commitment to head coach Orlando Antigua and the South Florida Bulls.

The 6-foot-8 post, who spent his junior season as a standout at St. Raymond's (NY) and followed with a successful AAU season with New Jersey based BBA Hoops, chose USF over the likes of Fordham, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's & Villanova.

Familiar ties helped seal the deal for the Bulls. Santos played for USF assistant coach Oliver Antigua in 2011 for the Dominican Republic in the 16U FIBA Americas and has developed an excellent relationship with both him and his brother and head coach Oliver Antigua.

It is the first recruit of the 2015 class for South Florida, and they are getting a power player on the block who is most successful as a rebounder and defender. He will bring added toughness to the Bulls, which they will sorely need in a tough American Athletic Conference.

This is a good start but Santos is a glue guy not a player that is projected to take a program to a higher level. He is exactly what the article states, a tough defender and rebounder that good teams need when they have stud scorers and play makers. Speaking of which that is what I'm waiting to see if USF can land for this class to be a difference maker for the program. Coach O offered many scholarships to some big time talent but so far nothing has worked in USF favor no more then just another offer on the table for the 2015 class. Montero will be a good land but still need another talented scorer and play maker to make it a good class imo

Glue guy yes, but we have I think a total of 3 guys 6-8 or taller. We need height and he gives us quality and height. Also next year Peters will be joining us after he sits out this year and we have a slew of guards on the roster currently that may grow to become outside threats.

I can't wait to see if he can couple this commit with another but time will tell. Coach O has certainly been putting in work.

Ran into someone at today who used to coach Santos and is close to Coach O he couldn't rave more about either and the direction this program will be headed. Also Coach O has tremendous relationships established with so many schools around the country that he will not settle for second rate talent, he fully expects USF to blow up both on the court and out recruiting.
