Title IX

easy ways around it. give every scholarship player a number of free tickets to each of their events. that's equal benefits. let them sell them

something tells me alabama football players will get more for their tickets than alabama field hockey players.

then let the players sell their own rights for marketing purposes. manziel will get more than a womans soccer player to endorse something.

And something tells me Alabama field hockey players will get more for their tickets than USF (insert 60-70 other  program) Football players...and that's probably true even if bama doesn't even have a varsity field hockey team.

There is no way the Federal Courts will allow higher payments for football players vs say women volleyball or softball players...as Title IX is basically unbreakable.

it isn't pay. they get family tickets for the sport they compete in. if they choose to sell them on the open market then that is their right. and no their field hockey players wouldn't get more. apparently you need a lesson on supply and demand. we don't have a huge fanbase but we certainly outdraw probably every single womens ncaa program. there might be a few exceptions with uconn or tenn hoops .

That's like having ESPN paying schools based on number of actual viewers per game. The schools make money from rights contracts regardless of number attending or viewing so why make it so the athletes get paid by a different criteria?

ESPN does pay schools based on viewers. why do you think SEC schools get paid more than AAC schools.

They pay based on an estimate of relative popularity during an upcoming time period based on a past time period. They don't pay as they go, x dollars per viewer. No.

sorry but they pay based on viewership. of course it's not actual viewers by program but they do pay based on viewership.

Even the dumbest judge knows that volleyball tickets aren't worth the same as football tickets.  That would never fly.

why wouldn't it fly? they are given equal benefits. family tickets to an event they are competing in.

Well, it's more than that, the contracts are long term and they don't own a time machine.

The NCAA would never allow athletes to scalp tickets.  If you're going to pay football and men's basketball players, you'd have to pay all scholarship athletes.  With that said, I'm okay with a small stipend, like $50 per week.

Certainly, Probably!!!!

Apparently you need a less on checking FACTS!

In 2012 there were 29 NCAA WBB programs that outdrew USF MBB. In 2013 there were 15!

Hey. At least we're improving...
