Can the site be formatted so that ads are not displayed at all for $X annual membership?

We should do a fundraising commitment for the year.

If we spread the $300 out, we could get rid of the ads (if Brad is okay with that).

$300/$5 a month for the year, we would only need 60 diehard Bulls to make it happen. We could do a tracker to show the progress.

And then maybe we could have some kind of identifier (for those who want it) by people's handles to say that they are a donor.

For me, I'm more willing to put with with people's crying and moaning if I knew they donated to the forum! :)

I mean it got so bad I almost left for good!

Anyway, let's pitch in, Bulls!

I like it....

Maybe it would be possible to do something where for every dollar that is over what is needed to run the site can be donated to USF athletics or for every 80 cents of each dollar that's over and everyone will be able to track that as well... etc.

No clue how any of that would work but sounds like a nice idea.

In the short-term, how can I send Brad a few bucks? I'm feeling saucy to start the new year.

does clicking them every once in a while generate ad revenue for the site?

Which brings up another point ... With this new development, we definitely need the Donate button back.

Agree.

In the meantime, it's driven me back to Firefox from Chrome for TBP reading.

I'm back on Firefox too, but for a completely different reason.  Was having trouble clicking around the site, logged out and couldn't log back in with Chrome.

These getting worse for anyone else?

Literally every single page they are popping up for me. And sometimes when I close them, they pop up again.

I completely understand the need for revenue, but it's getting to be a lot.

Thankfully I am not experiencing any of the ad issues. I am on an iPad.

We've been running with a new ad company since 1/1.

I did not add that popup video to the site.  It is apparently embedded in their banner ads.  I asked them how to control or remove it from the site.

Yesterday I got one that wouldn't even let me click past it until I waited 30 seconds. I ended up closing the tab and reopening what I wanted to read rather than wait. Today every page has had a video on the bottom left corner that I can click out of.
