Just hoping this win opens up a national debate on the AAC belonging in the P5. Also it should give hope to USF fans that a similar school program can win a bcs game. Not sure why it wouldn't, the announcers even broached the subject. Not saying it will do anything, but it will be a topic in sports news, almost certainly, when discussing the bowl season and transition to the new format. Not saying it will do anything, but it will be a topic in sports news, almost certainly, when discussing the bowl season and transition to the new format. Because the AAC was 4-8 against P5 teams this season and 2 of those wins were by teams that will not be here next year. The AAC is currently 2-2 in bowl games. One of those wins is by a team that will not be here next year. The AAC had no OOC wins over a ranked opponent in the regular season. That means the case for the AAC to become a power conference is: Cincinatti beat Purdue. UCF beat Penn State. UCF beat #6 Baylor. If anything it makes a case for a P5 conference to snatch UCF.
