Derrick Hopkins retweeted one of Coach Taggart's quotes from today:

@TBTimes_Bulls: Taggart: 'I think what you're seeing with us is trying to operate with kids that were recruited for something else.' #USF

Which seems harmless enough on twitter as there were no replies, but on Instagram Hopkins got a few:

First one says: #nofaith

And the second one:

Wrong Answer. A real coach makes the best out of what he has! He has all the talent in the world in a team. Use them for what they were recruited for. Stop trying to adjust your players and adjust your mindset as a coach, adjust your offense, and that is the answer. #bs #theanswer #isinfront #ofyoureyes

My questions now is...Did Hopkins retweet that because he understands that Coach T is trying to change the program here, or did he retweet that because he's pissed at Coach T for saying that?

Taggart is clearly putting the blame for the lack of offense on the players not fitting his system.

Even if that is true and I believe it to be the case, you can't put that out in the media.

It sounds bad. I think he's showing his inexperience as a HC.

I don't know that he isn't correct but seems like something that doesn't need to be said.  They are already hearing it from enough fans.

That quote is taken out of context, and reading the rest of what he said, I really don't have an issue with it.

 

He said they will get better, they will recruit the right guys, and that we are limited at receiver. Is any of that wrong?

 

Let's stop criticizing everything Taggart does, this season is bad enough already.

Frustration all around, finally coming out of the HC. Everyone's getting a beating on this, but CWT should never have let that get out in public. I know he's probably tired of taking the incoming rounds, but that's what he's getting paid for. They may not be elite, but we've never had an elite class. Don't know what he's expecting, but this all just looks like growing pains to me.
